Deadpool & Wolverine

Full of favorite crazy aunts and uncles or those high school classmates who were said to be in jail, the film is a rollercoaster ride of mischief and mayhem. Reminiscent of family arguments with cussing, threats, and accusations while playing cards in the heat of July at the picnic table.  Or the heavily intoxicated ex-prom queen and king trying to perform the dance moves that won over peers 25 years earlier. Yes, it is all there and then some, reminding fans how fun it has been with over a decade of MCU movies.

Comic book enthusiasts are well-versed in Marvel's superhero team-ups. Some of the most popular team-ups have been Wolverine and Spider-Man (Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine 2010), Captain America and The Falcon (Captain America and The Falcon 2004), and Spider-Man and Deadpool (Spiderman/Deadpool 2016). But for Marvel movie fanatics, the onscreen chemistry between Wolverine and Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine is movie magic, Marvel's version of the odd couple, and it did not disappoint.

Like a 25-year high school reunion or a family reunion that has not been attended since the tender age of eleven, and now it is 30 years later, Deadpool & Wolverine has old family and friends that have not been seen in ages and thought to be dead and gone.

Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, two of Marvel's most popular characters on film.  Deadpool, who aspires to be an Avenger, is deceived by the Time Variance Authority (TMA) into believing he can join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  He seeks the help of an alternate Wolverine, a broken man struggling with alcoholism and depression. This Wolverine blames himself for the death of the X-Men and is not the hero we all know and love.  Deadpool, convinced of Wolverine's survival due to his healing powers, ventures on a journey that leads to a surprising revelation.

This is Marvel's most creative and ambitious film yet.  From an opening NSYNC dance routine to a Madonna epilogue, there is nothing this film does not cover. Easily offensive and surprisingly surpassing the mark of the previous Deadpool films, heads will spin, and eyes will twirl after this concoction of events.  The movie consistently breaks the fourth wall, acknowledging the audience's existence and speaking to them directly, not to take away from the film but to include letting the audience in on the joke, "smarten you up."  However, the information is vast and abrupt and forces recommendations of repeat viewership to comprehend what may have been missed.

From a cast of characters and cameos arranged from a Fantastic Four/ Avengers doppelganger that will have audiences laughing so hard that they will literally split from the seams to a man's best friend or Deadpool's' best friend that only he could love.  Not to mention, the best Marvel villain since Thanos is Cassandra Nova.  A beautiful bald-headed psychotic miscreant who loves to dig deep into the minds of others.

Has too much been said or mentioned? Not at all. This is just the tip of a titanic-sized iceberg. Hopefully, this is one of many Marvel team-ups to come, surely to revive Marvel from the epic trilogies that fans have come to love and hate. There are many possibilities in the multiverse. Bring a pen and paper, and be sure to take notes. Deadpool & Wolverine Marvel's Team-Up Innovation of the Multiverse is now in session.
